SURVEY: if you LIKED or DISLIKED "It", please answer 2 questions...

Interested in hearing from people who either loved or hated this film (if it was just so-so to you, that is if you rated it a 5 or 6, then disregard).

Please state if you are + or - about the 2017 versions, then answer the two questions, for instance:

LIKED + / DISLIKED -
I had read the book already YES/NO
I had seen the 1990 TV miniseries YES/NO

Just curious as to how it feelings about the film correspond to the previous existing versions.

LIKED
I had read the book already Yes-Twice once at age 15 then in my early 20's
I had seen the 1990 TV miniseries Yes and more then once as well

The film is different from the book and TV show in these way. Unlike the book and TV movie it is not really told through flashbacks, it puts all it's attention on the children in the 80's (And not the 50/60's like in the book and TV movie) the second half will concentrate on the adults.
Some of the most graphic element from the book such as Georgie's death is more faithfully adapted in the new film because of the R rated.
The director added some original material to represent the fear of each of the loosers (Like one of the kids has a fear of a portrait of a creepy deformed lady)
They (for now) did not represent the more meta aspect of the book (Except for the Turtle being represented throughout the film)
They of course completely took off the children giving their virginity to Berverly (We all should be thankful for that)
The director added a real 80's the Goonies vibe to the film that is not present in the book or the film (Maybe because of the period change)
It has a lot more humor when it comes to the interaction between the children then either the book or the TV film
It has better special effect then the TV film (Obviously)
Some characters stand out more then in the TV film like Eddy and some has less to do like Mikey (Probably the only thing I disliked about the film)
I am sure there are other things but overall I really loved that film personally and it is far superior in every aspect to the TV film in my opinion.

I haven't read the book and propably never will. I'm not much of a reader. I loved the movie. 9/10

I've seen the miniseries as a kid but I don't remember much about it except that I thought it was pretty lame. I've been meaning to check it out again after I saw the movie.

Read the book three times.
Saw the miniseries.

LIKED IT

DIDNT read the book.
I OWN a copy of the original (miniseries movie)

THIS movie was rated R and was able to do much more than the original "made for TV" version.

I miss the iconic "outfall building" from the first one. It made more sense to me.

DISLIKED - leans more on the dislike side than the so-so side. Even without comparison of the 90s version coming into play, there's just too much to dislike about the film on its own.

YES - I had read the book already, but like a zillion years ago. And I’m pretty sure it was a ‘clean’/edited version because the kids having sex just wasn’t in it, period. I can’t confirm, though – that book died in a fire long ago.

YES - I had seen the 1990 TV miniseries. Re-watched it recently and it held up well.
