PLEASE start asking the fans if we want this crap

For real if they just did a broader research they would find that they only way we want this crap is if its done right, and by right, not what some ONE guy thinks, but a collective group of people.

Like just tell us its going to be realistic, fantasy, etc, like what you have planned and we will let you know.

I can tell you now if it veers off course and is ONE iota cheesy it will fail. SIMPLE.

Well we already know it will be at least a little cheesy. Did you see the exterior design for 29 Niebolt St?

reply

Not what I expected. It isn't accurate but I didn't expect it to be, still glad that we are at least getting it.

Thank you essjay. If this were up to the fans on this board this movie would truly be a disaster! I think we should leave it up to the filmmakers and just be god dämn happy we get a new adaptation

Agree completely with you. This movie shouldn't just be fan service. They should strive to make a quality film for fans and non-fans alike.

I'm a fan of the novel, and I have been waiting for this for years. A proper adaptation would be amazing, and I've always found the miniseries, with the exception of Tim Curry, to be bland and cheesy.

Everyone placing the miniseries on a pedestal like it's Citizen Kane must have nostalgia goggles, because I don't get it.

In a way I kind of wish I hadn't read about the miniseries was proposed to be, because it could have been something so different. George Romero wanting to do a darker, more faithful, 18 hour miniseries... Compared to the 2 safe for ABC films that we got.

Though, I still don't hate it. I definitely enjoyed the first better than the 2nd, so much could have been done differently and better. But in the same token, I'm able to read the book and then watch the series and say, "I get what they were going for. It didn't quite get there, but I get it." I think TV in the early 90's was just the wrong place for IT to begin with, had they been allowed to be a hard R it could have at least been a bit darker.
