Distortion (spoilers)

I quite liked this film, thought it was well acted and looked great. The slow burning pace also worked a treat.

The ending scenes though... WTF was going on there?

The creature design was solid enough, and Ian Whyte is a big guy. He cuts an imposing enough figure as it is, and has experience of suit performance.

So why did they use crappy distortion effects? I wouldn't have minded so much, but the effect... for lack of a better word, was ripply. And it looked daft.

Spoiled those final scenes for me.

On another note, Hannah Stanbridge is one to watch.

yeah it looked like the creature had wandered into one of those magic / crazy mirror emporiums that you get at fairgrounds , it cheapened the look of the terrific creature design a bit , though it didn't really spoil those scenes too much for me

by rippling do you mean his muscles or the image?

I liked how he didn't fully turn at first--he was partly human at the beginning of the transformation (his legs). I thought that the full view was scarier than the glimpses--especially at the end once I realized that he wasn't a werewolf but something else. He seemed to glow like they'd added some CGI (to disguise some of the make up? Make him seem unearthly? Maybe to show him fully transforming?).
