When the other hunter (was he the brother of the mother?) said that he should be careful to clean up after the sacrifices and not leave them lying about. He said if she got hold of one of the sacrifices it would interfere with their ability to find her. She prepared it with magic, nuts and berries and him eating it nullified the search magic.
