My eleven year old daughter loves this movie. I liked it. Perhaps many who have an acquired taste for Jim Carrey's regular edgy humor are disappointed with this movie. I like how the film is family friendly and the comedic script is very smart. Using the CGI to portray the penguins was a let down but the screen writing was smart and entertaining.

This movie had a low production budget and made a tidy profit at the world wide box office. I guess I don't like Jim Carrey's typical humor, like in Liar Liar, but, I can enjoy him in a cleaned up family oriented comedy movie like Mr. Popper's Penguins.

I admit that movies with Jim Carrey's regular edgy humor have grossed much better in the world wide box office than the family friendly Mr. Popper's Penguins. Liar Liar is a good example of this.
