Is there a particular way to catch Malfoy? If I go to slow I lose him quickly. If I go too fast I miss turns and corners which gives him time to escape. I'm using a laptop and this is the only game-control problem I've run into so far.

Just keep trying. It took me a few times but it gets easier the more you try it.
The way I did it though was to go fast until you get to a corner or a small space and slow down just enough to get through thin go fast as you can again.
However, I played it on 360, not PC version. That was really the hardest part of the game, it was too easy and short, however I loved just because I'm a huge Potter fan.
