This film is wonderful, I really love the film choices that Michael Sheen makes. Jason Spevack was annoying at times but I got over it, the rest of the cast were really excellent
"The world moves for love, It kneels before it in awe" - The Village
I thought it was a fantastic film and the humor was funny which is why I'm confused at the rating it's getting. I didn't find the kid to be annoying, I thought he was quite funny and I don't know if everyone else thought this but does he remind you of like James Caan?
You beat me to it, great movie - refreshingly different, so funny in places had to pause just so I could have a good laugh. If only kids were really that insightful, the teenager years would be easy for any parent - loved their characters.
I enjoyed the movie, the main characters are all really well done. It is exactly the quirky indie film that I enjoy. I think it is rated fairly. I didn't like the white guy who thought he was black... he was good for a few laughs but it went on too long. I also didn't like his uncle billy. I really didn't like the part that was in Spanish, it would have been more powerful in English. Doing it in Spanish took away Stan's charm and listening to their Spanish was just bad. Since I did like the overall movie except for those parts I think the rating is fair.
I agree with you totally. The "black male nurse in a white man's body" was painful! As well as the spanish. I also could've done without the Portuguese nurse at the nursing home, and the weird accent of the Oncologist (was he supposed to be German? Or Frahnk (Martin Short) from Father of the Bride???) Otherwise, great film.
