Implausible story (spoilers)

Just saw the movie tonight on DVD. The movie is ok. Not very good, but I've seen a lot worse.
What bothered me was the story about the murder of Joshua's father.
Vincent killed his father, but Joshua doesn't do anything about it, or even confronts Vincent with it until the final scene in the car. That doesn't make sense to me. He knows Vincent did it because of the ring? But he must have noticed that ring before. The only other reason I can think of why he waited until the final scene, after working for his fathers murderer for years, is that he didn't remember seeing that ring until the scene in the car. But that is very implausible.

That was melodramatic garbage for sure. Plus if Harvey Keitel is the baddest gangster in the country, why was he so easy to kill in his own home? Tony Montana makes him look like a pantywaist. From now on if you are going to kill the "baddest gangster in the country," it should look like that scene in the last Rambo movie where Stallone spends ten straight minutes blowing people away. Rambo probably gunned down a hundred people literally in that scene.

I know I'm reading a lot into this, but my take was that Joshua knew he was dying and had to take out Vincent before it was too late. On the other hand, Vincent says something like "you wouldn't do that you are too loyal" and Joshua replies "It's in my nature." Now here's the kicker; there is no gunshot sound at the very end. A very loud instrument fanfare is heard instead. So then the question becomes did Vincent die or not?

Watta ya lookn here for?
