Confused how the first girl was found. Gyllenhaal looked at his notebook which says "window open" then has an epiphany, and runs off to the wooden brown house, looks up, sees muddy footprints, finds the other bunny sock, then next scene, girl is safe in hospital.
Who's house was it, how did he know to go there, etc
If you mean Joy,she managed to escape. The scene where she escapes is quite confusing and shown from the viewpoint of someone whose head is covered.
But it has nothing to do with the scene you describe. Loki suddenly remembers Ms Dover telling him that she heard noises and found the window open --something he was a bit sceptical at the time-- and realises the suspect had taken the children's clothes from their houses. This is confirmed when he finds a sock similar to the one found at the suspect's house below said window, as well as footprints.
ahh yes, thank you, I wish I hadn't deleted this film from my recording, but I needed the space! even though this film is 3 hours long, scenes like this could've been filled out, but I guess it makes a change to watch a film that makes you think.
