How did loki know to movie the fridge?

When Loki visits the pedophile priest, how does he instinctively know to check behind the fridge for that hidden door? It's almost like he already knew it was there?

reply

The wire was stretched thus indicating the fridgehad been moved from its original location.

reply

True..but it's a measure of how bad the film is that the priest, in all the years since he killed the man in the cellar, didn't put a kitchen table or something else in that bare space in order NOT to arouse suspicion should anyone ever show up...detective or friend.
But since this was NOT a good movie, they said..."aw the heck with it...taut cord, huge bare space for no reason...leave it in so that Jake can say What the heck is going on there!"

reply

Maybe he didn't plan to have any visitors, or just didn't think of it.

reply

The priest looked frail as *beep* the fridge looked quite new... so he never bothered after they installed it for him I guess... and uhm... this film was fantastic!

reply

I dont think he really cared if he was caught or not. His life was obviously not going well and he was drinking himself to death.

Like someone else mentioned, it was there to keep the guy from escaping. It seemed like he had convinced the guy to come over, knocked him out somehow, dragged him to the basement and tied him up, removed the stairs, and then blocked off the basement.

reply

Because most people put their fridge in front of the wire and since he was looking for anything out of place and out of the ordinary it stood out to him that it was moved to a place that would be an ugly place for the fridge to be in relationship to where the wire is

If it wasn't a detective investigating a missing child it wouldn't seem that weird but the situation is important

reply

The priest wasn't a pedophile ...he killed the pedophile

reply

He was a convicted level 3 sex offender. Don't think they said what he did though.

reply

Because there were scratch marks on the floor indicating the fridge had been moved heaps of times

reply

Yes… AND a dusty square on the floor where the fridge used to be.

The priest apparently hadn't used a dustpan nor relaxed the floor after moving the fridge.

I'd guess, too, as a defrocked priest, he didn't have too many visitors to worry about.

reply

I agree, there is a clear dirty outline of where the fridge used to be on the wall. He didn't bother hiding that he moved the fridge because it was to keep the serial killer in the basement, not to keep people from finding him.
