close up of the tree

Hi, I didn't understand the closeup to a tree when the girls are kidnapped. Why? I suspected this was a clue for discovering the crime, but it wasn't... why, what is the reason to do a close up to the tree ????

I think it was an abstract way of showing that some time had gone by, I wondered about it myself, since trees don't play any significant part in the movie. Oh well, at least it was in focus! The movie's cinematography was excellent

Trees don't move unless uprooted. Killer didn't move until she was discovered, stayed in he same place and grew old. Symbolism
