Why can't folks enjoy this?

This movie was thoroughly enjoyable. How in God's name can everyone be so uptight and critical that they cannot see the humor and fun that it was meant for. My kids loved it. I liked it too.

Using it's for kids is an excuse.

Look, I like Cats and Dogs, at least it wasn't stupid and mundane like Marmaduke. TO each of theur own. Stop taking people's opinions seriously.

I liked it alright. I like dogs and I thought the voice work was pretty well done. It passed a boring morning. At the same time I realize it is just a cheesy money grab movie that contributes nothing that hasn't been done to absolute death and I have no idea why they named it Marmaduke, it has nothing to do with the strip. I gave it a 5.

Aaah, buckle this.

For the same reason why people can't enjoy watching a human baby get smacked in the face?

They just...can't!

I don't like stuff that sucks.

To each their own I guess.
I thought this was ok and passed the time. It even made me chuckle a couple of times which is very unusual.
I saw Wall Street 2 last week and that was dull and boring. They made a 30 minute story into a 2 1/2 hour film. At least this had a story even if it was recycled.
Cheers

Been watching a lot of dog films lately.
This one was on the list and on Channel 4 a few weeks ago so I have just got round to watching it and I liked this.
I give Marmaduke a 6 out of 10.

I have this as a guilty pleasure.

I dunno; it's cute enough for a few viewings. Just lighthearted, innocuous fun, nothing too heavy or serious. It is nooooo Homeward Bound. Live-action animal movies just ain't done quite right anymore! Disney was/is a master of that genre, but I guess they felt they sort of exhausted it...and the ones that have been coming out sporadically from any studio within the past 10-15 years don't measure up to all the really excellent ones.

I like Marmaduke well enough. I had a few issues with certain details (e.g., Marmaduke is pretty obviously a purebred...although William H. Macy is one of the best parts of this. And then there are the stereotypical breed treatments. Oh, so the Afghans are the vapid blonde Valley girls--lol. How clever. ) But overall, it's not a total crapfest like some shoddily thrown-together "just-for-kids" films are.

I'm watching it for the first time, and I'm liking it.
I decided to watch it for Lee Pace (love him!), and I'm enjoying the humour and cuteness.

Admittedly, some of the jokes are kinda cheesy (Chupadogra?), but I'm willing to overlook that for the cuteness of the story.

I understand people not liking it, I guess it's just not everyone's cup of tea.

But I like it :).

If you're into animals like me, you'll probably like it. If you're not, you probably won't. It's very much an animal story, rather than a humans (who hang around the animal) story.🐭

i just saw this on basic cable and headed over here to rate it a 4. this wasn't the worst film, but it was pretty bad. ironically i knew that when i would head over to the matching board, i just KNEW that there would be threads like this. there always are, no matter how bad the film is, there have to be some people that embarrass themselves with questions like "why can't people just lay down and relax" or "i don't understand the hate".

look, if you have such low expectations, then that's fine and dandy, but NOT UNDERSTANDING the criticism? really?
