Was it CGI or green screen that I'm seeing?

I just caught this on DTV for the first time since I saw it in the theater. Some of the action sequences were unsettling in the poor production value.

*side narrative*
Back around the time T2 was in theaters, SNL had a skit with "Toonces the driving cat" and the kid that played John Connor in T2. Toonces was a terminator cat chasing them and they were in this obvious car set piece in front of a green screen. The movements of the car were not synchronized with the movement of the terrain in the background or the movement of the steering wheel. It was so preposterous as to be funny, where no element of the skit matched with any other element.

Watching Fury Road was a lot like that SNL skit. Maybe it's not CGI, but putting actors in action sequences with other footage behind them on green screen (real footage or not) was an abomination.

So terrible.
