Better watch mad max 2: the road warrior. It's better and much more realistic.

Fury Road is a cartoon with bs cars. And wtf was that 160 day motorcycle drive across the desert supposed to be fueled by?

Nice stunts, sure. But not a mad max movie.

fury road is just a well made mad max ripoff to me. i love mad max ripoffs but it isn't a sequel. i think mad max 2 is the best. mad max 3 is my favorite. mad max 1 has my favorite gang.

reply

Mad Max 3?

does beyond thunderdome not exist to you ?

reply

Yeh I wished it didnt exist, how is it your favorite?

reply

it's an entertaining movie

No biggie man. Its just rare to hear that one. We all have valid opinions here. Especially now the trolls have gone since imdb boards closed.

There are some amazing parts like the Thunderdome. Completely original never seen before or again fight sequence.

Every movie should have a Thunderdome. It's just when you get to the long sequence with the kids. Drags the film way down.

it definitely spoke to me as a kid. the first 45 minutes are the best. but i like max as a hero in this one. when i played with action figures as a kid it was always some lone max-like gijoe and his dog so i know road warrior had an influence too. road warrior is the supeior film just not my fav.

I dig you man.

Boy, this discussion board is pretty active. Usually weeks pass before I get any response from one of my Moviechat posts. But for this movie, I get responses within minutes.

reply

Because Mad Max is so good it has to be defended.

I agree and I am a huge old school mad max fan as well....

reply

Yes! MM2 is one of my favourite movies ever but this one just improved on everything. I feel like this is the true vision of what Miller had in mind when he made the first movie.

reply

Here ‘ s the very important thing right now: Ok boomer

[This is obvs why the several posts on here defending and giving this film its due are a fresh breath of air, it contrasts from all the tired b/xoomer hate posts of this far more masterfully-executed film. And lol rip-off of the first Mad Max... they ain’t even trying anymore. Well OP and its fellow detractors can stick to its beloved older Max. I’ll happily keep watching Fury Road till the end of the road :}]

Try something other than ageist ad hominems, which very likely don't even apply in any case. Most of the people who grew up with this movie are NOT Boomers. We are children of the 80's, mostly. You need to do some research on the time frame of what a "BOOMER" actually is. Even the original Mad Max film should not be immune from criticism, although most of us in North America saw The Road Warrior BEFORE Mad Max, even though that came out two years earlier. Besides, I and many others were perfectly capable of taking off our "nostalgia glasses" back in 1987 and call Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome out for the massive let down and artistic misstep that it was. My nostalgia didn't shield that film from criticism at all. Fury Road isn't the failure that Thunderdome was, but that doesn't change the fact that I consider The Road Warrior a superior film. I guess history will be the ultimate judge, though.

reply

It already is. The Road Warrior is a metaphor.

reply

People walked out of Thunderdome deflated. Its the highlander 2, Pitch Black 2, the Matrix 2 & 3 of sequels.

nailed it

BUT IT IS...GEORGE MILLER IS AT THE HELM,AS HE WAS FOR ALL OF THE MAX PICTURES...IF MISTER MILLER SAYS SO...YOU ARE WRONG🙂

That's what separates the blind believers from the rationals, Kowalski. The latter can decide for themselves.

reply

YOUR POINT IS NOT A POINT.🙂

Fury Road is my favorite but The Road Warrior is a close second.
