I Beg to Differ (Yes This is a BR Post Because Im Sick of Hearing it)

I think, while somethings are similar overall its very simple. Kids are forced to fight to the death on live Tv done. Its not like it was a complex idea. Who cares honestly. I enjoy the Hunger Games you enjoy Battle Royale ok good for you. We dont care. You watch that I watch this and its over. Who. Cares.

the Americas should enjoy a cheap, low budget production that keeps their relatives living in luxury.they sure picked a good film to rip off,no doubt the director of this film will bless himself with all the credit.

Who. Cares.
My guess? People who paid movie to see a movie that wasn't a Battle Royale ripoff, but which turned out to be a Battle Royale ripoff nonetheless.

Oh, and those who don't support plagiarism in US cinemas.

There are three possible reasons that you have devoted hundreds of hours to this ridiculous crusade.

1. You are pathologically dishonest and have way too much time on your hands.
2. You are stupid.
3. You are insane.

That exhausts all the possibilities.

I know which one I think is most likely.

Seek help.

Not so much possibilities as misguided plagiarism, which ultimately backfired:

Battle Royale:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0266308/
Battle Royale 2:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338763/

Lying. Stupid. Insane. No other possibilities. Seek help.

Have you tried turning on the subtitles? Because Collins obviously did...

Then why no copyright lawsuit? The facts aren't there. The have one common theme, that's not a ripoff or plagiarism.

reply

Then why no copyright lawsuit?
Hint: Battle Royale is a Japanese franchise. If it was from the US or Europe Suzanne Collins would be wasting away in prison right now.

To me the biggest complaint is her claim that she had never even heard of BR. That just seems patently false and ridiculous to me. If she'd said, "I saw BR and read the book and I wanted to do a western take on it" then I wouldn't have a problem with it. Saying that you were inspired by something is fine, being obviously inspired by something and claiming you never heard of it makes her lose a lot of points.
