Good question! I don't agree with your statement of TYLER being racist, but you still ask a good question. I am black and I do not think it is OK. Many black people are just as racist as the people they accuse, but for some reason they can't see that, instead always assuming that ANY negative thing said for or about a black person means they are racist, and I am one black person who knows that is total ignorance!! Let me know when you get an answer to that question, because that is one that I have asked myself on occasion, never getting an answer!!

The point is the same. You can't name ONE thing that we done that even comes close to the vilnes of Whites toward us. The same thing for Tyler's movies. I haven't seen anything in his movies that note that. Your comment is totally ludicrous as was the OP's comment.

There are hundreds and hundreds of movies with all white casts or at best one black person stuck in their for "flavor" released every year -- year in and year out. NOTHING IS SAID.

Tyler Perry makes ONE MOVIE A YEAR OR EVERY OTHER YEAR WITH AN ALL BLACK CAST AND YOU PEOPLE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT? Well kiss my @ss!

This is the same thing that is said about BET. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF STATIONS WITH WHITE ONLY PROGRAMMING, nothing is said. ONE STATION FOR BLACK PEOPLE AND THE WORLD COMES TO A D!MN STAND STILL.

The issue though is whites never come out purposely to make a white movie, TV show, TV channel, etc whereas blacks purposely do this... Difference.

Nor can you deny what evil blacks have done, and continue to do. Taken a look at what goes on in Africa lately? Cross-tribal and cross-religious hate and violence is just as bad as anything motivated by racism. Get a clue pal.

To go along with what you were saying about African culture nowadays, how about the fact that white people obtained their slaves from other black tribes. They condemned themselves to slavery. I'm not saying it was right of the white people to do and I don't see how Tyler Perry is racist but be people need to be well informed before they completely blast races.

It hasn't been defined as white only....As far as Rwanda is concerned. It was an ongoing Civil war, and a retaliation by the Tutsis against the Hutus for siding with a common colonizing enemy(Belgium). I believe there was a thing called a Civil war right here in America that claimed nearly 700,000 lives.

By the way, my friend, Whites didn't need to buy a Black man from another Black man when they can and DID take BOTH for free. You were told the half-truth about Africans were sold by there own kind. That means that's only partially true, but NOT the whole truth. I'm well versed in history. The MAIN culpirt in the slave trade was the White man, and that's the WHOLE truth.

I am not sure if you were directing that to me because I am not pissed at whtes. However, you are leaving a ton of things out when you say that African tribes sold their own to the Europeans. In actuality, they sold their prisoners of war, from RIVAL tribes to Europeans with an understanding that they would be endentured servants, not slaves. They were tricked, and some of the very chiefs of those tribes that made the deals were also taken against their will and ended up on the slave ships. Bottom line. The slave ships were not African owned, they were European owned.

Tyler Perry has said many times over why all the characters he has created act the way they do. If you take them as re enforcing stereotypes that's just on your view of things. Having watched both his movies and plays he goes in to details at the ends or in interviews explaining how his characters are portrayals of the women and men of his youth and childhood. Family members, teachers, and etc... In retrospect many people in not just black communities but other ethnic groups can recall people of the same personalities in their own lives. Especially when it comes to the women in his plays and movies. I've have and have had plenty of aunties, friends, coworkers, and etc that behave as they do. Moreover, is the reason I and many other people don't view them is stereotypical views of blacks, but rather, in the most extreme cases (The loud wife always jealous of every female that talks to Marcus, so she acts a fool), an exaggeration of the roles we already know in our own society.

I love it when white people accuse black directors of 'being racist' when they have all-black casts, yet they conveniently leave out both the DEARTH of black characters in the majority of films by non-black (Majority white, of course) directors, and the persistent depiction of the 'Token' black character(s) in movies of the above type being little more than one-dimensional 'sidekicks' or buffoons who add absolutely NOTHING to the movie's plot and/or story other than a few racially-inspired laughs.

Tyler's not a racist. He has used plenty of white actors and actresses, as well as Latinos in his movies & television shows. They don't HAVE to be main characters to have diversity. Hence the white folk in "The Family That Preys". Kathy Bates got ALOT of face time and recognition. And I'm sure that there WILL be more !!!
