Gavin had every right to half of that money. Without it, they were both going to get $970,000? Oh, what a nightmare! I write a check for over $100 and I get a scomach ache. And Patricia was complaining about $4,000 and saying it was all HER money????
Actually, the $970k was only part of it, there was another account with like $600k or something. They were both walking away with well over a million! And it wasnt $4000.00, it was $800K!! She "hid" that account, and just ASSUMED it would go to her and be hers. Well, even splitting it, thats still a hefty split, however, I totally agreed with Gavin. He helped her with that book in more ways than 1. By hearing her, inspiring her (as well as her friends), giving her suggestions (which she so nicely said she used NONE of it, which I doubt), waiting for her on book tours, and so much more!
This was CONTROL, pure and simple. She made that money while they were MARRIED, and he's entitled to half of that, unless there is a contract stating otherwise. She wanted to have something that was all hers. She wanted to "be on top" and "win" in this divorce. She was being all nice and fake during the meeting with the lawyers, and was in agreement with everything. Even nodding towards Gavin as if "yeah, that's what we agreed, that sounds fair. Right, Gavin?...we're still going to be friends, you'll see. I still love him, and everything sounds right and fair, now lets sign and get divorced". --- then BAM, as soon as they found out about her other little nest egg, she flipped the switch real quick.
Im not sure if he ever abused her prior to that night we saw. But I think when she found out that he blamed her for killing their son and resented her for hiding her feelings, he grew distant. And since he blamed her, she resented him and wanted to have more than him.
Him cleaning out the bank, I believe, would be illegal. They agreed on a certain amount to be split, just still negotiating for the other $800K. He had no right to clean out her account. Just like what Mike did to Sheila.
