WRONG COUNTRY WRONG TITLE

Just finished.

As a brit I am able to watch a relatively slow paced moody tale. This is not the entertainment for the action, foul language gore fest addicts. And no sign of sex.

The story line need not have been told as a Welsh Valley alternative historical tale.

The German machine did actually occupy many areas and any of those could have been chosen. Holland, France, Belgium and stay away from utter fiction.

Given that we know the machine did not treat certain areas of Europe kindly I think the attitude towards the Welsh would have been little different. Considering we are in the pretend world of D day failing and the Russians making little inroads why would the German not just roll along as elsewhere. If this land had produced the greatest threat it would have to be made safe ruthlessly. No point in trying to win hearts and minds. Didn't do it anywhere else except in France.

The German group were sent to find an artifact which we are to believe is the Mappa Mundi. Here it will be the one from Hereford. There were others in Europe so that would not interfere with the story premise.

Our German Leader is shown as weary and wanting to not lose any more men so feels he can pad out his role by not disclosing the find of the Mappa to his men. This could again have been anywhere in German Occupied Europe.

The title Resistance suggests action but we see little of that other than a requirement to kill collaborators and not the actual enemy. Yes the horse did show a sort of affection for ? Bernhard so deserved to die.

This story seems to show that the German was capable of having a decent attitude and I wont deny that as a possibility but in reality it probably is only possible when the selfish gene rears its head and in this case an attraction to the female lead.

This was never going to be possible as she was the reincarnation of the Devils Whore. I had to check where I had seen those good looks before.

Michael Sheen must have felt a cheat for the number of words he had to learn.

But as he is Welsh may have HAD to be cast.

Taking the story in general I felt it was quite well acted and understandable.

Incorrect, they behaved the better the more they thought the inhabitants were aryan, norway and denmark specifically. THey did not behave at all well in France, but they behaved better there than they did in the East

Why? are there only 7 welsh actors?

"The story line need not have been told as a welsh alternative"....the book was written by a welshman and funded by a welsh organisation, what a bizarre comment!,strangely the cymro were on these islands first, long before the normans and the saxons,We have an oppressed history that the english prefer to ignore, traces of which rear its head in your comment.
