Should've been a movie

If you could get Spike Jones to make this into a real movie and have Marwencol be stop-motion animation, it would be amazing. So it would be live action about the guy in the real world and then have the animated Marwencol, it would be an awesome movie. I'd leave the crossdressing stuff out of it though. But an idea about a guy creating an alternative world is a great idea for a movie.

This actually brought to mind SYNECHDOCE NY in a way.

Especially at the end, when the doll had their own dolls.

Babe 2: Pig in the City is by far the best talking pig movie of the last three hundred years.

No, leaving the cross dressing out would be dishonest and whitewashing. It's obviously an important part of Mark's identity, not least of all because it led to his vicious beating. It's exactly this kind of Hollywood sanitizing that ruins good stories and is one of the reasons mainstream American movies are utterly toothless and weak nowadays.

He got beat up in the first place for crossdressing...why the hell should they leave that out?

So it IS going to be a movie. And Zemeckis! Can't go wrong there.

I don't know how I feel about this...I have a feeling that with Zemeckis directing it'll feel *too* dramatized. I liked the Spike Jonze idea but...regardless, I'm excited because I loved the documentary so much. Thanks for sharing that!
