What a dissapointment.

Now I like a bit of Beatles, they did change the music industry forever.
One band that does deserve the praise it gets.

So why have Harmonix made such a dull game?
I'l happily admit, I'm not a huge fan of these Rock Band/Guitar Hero style games. They are ok, but nothing amazing.

So here is a great idea, mix a good idea for a game (which it is) with one of the greatest bands ever created and you have gold.
But no, what we have is a dull, flat game.

Presentation wise. This game delivers. It looks great from the early Cavern days to the later career moments and the trippy "dreamscapes". Then there are the unlockable pics, vids etc.
If this were a retrospective of The Beatles, it would be amazing.

But as a game, it's "wrong".
A lot of the hits are missing (yes I know, DLC). But even so, the songs that are in the game, most of them just do not suit the Rock Band gameplay style.
Play as a band and most of the time it's rare (as a band) you are given much to do. Then when you are, it's difficulty level is so low it's just not worth it.

There is something that just does not "gel".
As I said, I'm not a huge fan of the Rock Band series anyway, but purely as a game. Rock Band 2 was far more satisfying to play. Where as this is..."absent" in terms of gameplay.
Even Beatles fans (like me) will be disappointed...and that is the target audience.

Looking at this only from a gameplay perspective. The Beatles + Rock Band just does not work.

If only you understood what irony was, you'd see how pointless posting such a stupid "comment" is.

well its a party game. they lowered the toughness of it, just like Guitar Hero World Tour. people will play this at parties, probably normally dont have this game so they lowered it.

I kick ass for the lord!!

That's sensible reasoning.
If only they had difficulty settings...oh wait.
Then if it was too hard, you could make it easy. But when it's too easy off the bat, you can't make it harder.

It's not just the fact it's too damn easy.
It's also the fact that a lot of the songs just do not work. As a band, there are a lot of songs in which there is nothing for band members to do.
That's nothing to do with the difficulty, it's a simple fact of The Beatles songs just do not work for this style of game.

Which was why I comapred this title to Rock Band 2. It's the same franchise same basic mechanics...but not as good.
Don't look at it as it The Beatles, look at it from a gameplay point of view.

You missed the entire point of the game. If you bought TBRB, you most likely already have Rock Band 2 or 1. This game is meant allow you to focus on enjoying the Beatles music as much as possible. No need for break neck speed on song charting here on Expert.

That's what you have Rock Band for.

You're suppose to appreciate the band. Also, the set list is a fine length. For a causal fan to get a taste of the Beatles as well as to leave the long time fan wanting more, I.E. the DLC.

I agree completely with your statement siren. I don't care that the game is easier than rock band 2 and I actually think that the Beatles songs work fine with the game. I bought this game purely because I enjoy the music and I thought it would be fun to actually "play" the songs in the game, which it is. I didn't buy it for extreme difficulty. And I'm ultimately very happy with my purchase and can't wait for them to release Abby Road at the end of the month and then Sgt. Pepper next month

I enjoyed playing some of the bass lines on Expert and even though I haven't played it since the day it came out (my mates own the game, not me), I only managed to get 100% on a few tunes.

Hell no, I hadn't even played a Rock Band or Guitar Hero game I actually liked before TB:RB. You're just wrong.

I love the game. I still play it to this day. I dont find it boring or disappointing in the least.
