It is hard to say as hybrid is a very broad category and more of a leftover if not a racing bike, cruiser or mountain bike
Since they don't have suspension, they are not really mountain bikes by todays standards
Also with those bent handle bars they are not really mountain bikes
They seem to be setup for a weekend jaunt which would make me put them in the hybrid category
They looked like cheap bikes from Aldi
Hope this helps though who really cares

I was certainly disappointed with how little effort they put into making these bikes look like the girls had put a lot of thought into kitting them out for a big road trip rather than like they were popping down to the shops.
They cycled in comfortable flats, did not wear gloves, no bar ends etc
I never ever saw them lock them up which should be a habit, etc etc etc
