List who you would've chosen to voice whom if you could've picked others for the roles.

Example:

Aqua-Jen Taylor
Ven-Erik Per Sullivan (Dewey from Malcolm in the Middle)
Master Xehanort-Clancy Brown, Christoph Waltz, or Keith David

Now say who you would've recasted

reply

Terra-Wenworth Miller, Christian Bale or Travis Willingham(Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist)

Aqua-Kari Wahlgren(Ashe in Final Fantasy XII), Natalie Portman, Mae Whitman or Carey Mulligan(Her American accent in Wall Street sounds good)

Ventus-Anton Yelchin

I made a post like this not too long ago, but I'll post my thoughts on this again.

-I'll Agree with Sam Witwer, I also think Matt Lanter (Clone Wars) or Will Friedle (Batman Begins) would be good. Terra's current english voice actor was kinda crap, he sounding BORING, the only time his acting sounded convincing was when he yelled at Xehanort before the final battle. However, he wasn't as horrible as Aqua, ugh, but I'll get to that later.

-For Master Xehanort, now that Leonard is retired but the character is slated to come back, I think Rip Torn should voice him.

-I didn't really like Haley as Vanitas, it'd be cooler if he DIDN'T talk, but when he did he sounded like a bully. If he should talk he should sound like Darth Maul, that low, british voice. Which is why Sam Witwer should probably have played Vanitas, i.e. if you've played Force Unleashed 2 he is capable of a sinister british voice (whenever he mind-tricks someone).

-Ven should be voiced by some 12 year old kid 'cause he acted like a kid in the game, not like Roxas who acted more...mature like a teenager. Hearing Jesse's voice comin' out of Ven's mouth at times was wierd and distracting, and even a little funny, like how he yells when he swings his Keyblade.

-I HAAATEEEEEEED Aqua's voice, she was THAT bad. At least Terra's had kind of a cool, Christian Bale voice at times, but Aqua was just bad in my opinion. It's like the casting guys found the first hot girl they saw and just casted her, that's what came to mind whenever she spoke. She seemed very bored, and cared EVEN LESS about this game than Jason Dhoring (Terra) did. Aqua should be voiced by either Anna Paquin (X-Men) or Mae Whitman (Avatar: The Last Airbender).

Before I saw the enlish voice cast, I casted:

Terra-Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli from Heroes)
Aqua-Anna Paquin (Rogue from the X-Men movies)
Ven-Jesse McCartney (why not?)
Master Xehanort-Malcolm McDowell (Lindermen from Heroes, Clockwork Orange)
Master Eraqus-Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jin from Star Wars)
Vanitas-Haley Joel Osment (Japenese Sora played him, so again, why not?)

Guard 1: I locked all the exits.

Guard 2: And I helped.

Witwer's a good call for Terra, and Dohring did a fairly good job as Terra as it stands, but Witwer could totally make Terra all the more badass.

McCartney's pretty much a staple cast member, so I doubt anyone could change him. Besides, he does a good job I think.

I'd nominate Elisabeth Harnois to voice Aqua. She's a good actress for someone who looks 10 years younger than she actually is and she has a very mature voice (as opposed to Willa Holland's seemingly bored drawl.) Not to mention, she used to do some work in Disney productions, and she's collaborated before with McCartney, so there's potential for a good portrayal already.

Just to let you know I recently made an edit to my re-voice cast. "Bored drawl", I'll agree with that. I'd like Sam Witwer to be in this game, or the next one (yes, they're having a Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep volume 2) but maybe as Vanitas.

So they are doing another prequel game? Hmm. Well, in any case, I doubt Vanitas would be in it, as last I looked, the heroes put him down. Especially given that his original alter ego lies comatose. I guess Aqua will definitely be in it, as she's the only one of the heroes of the first prequel still technically in some active state, but a different actress to replace Holland is needed (my vote still goes to Harnois on that. I can't quite see Paquin voicing her even though she's not a bad suggestion, but Whitman's too spunky for the role. I can't really see her voicing Aqua, and to be honest I don't think I'd be able to stand it.)

"I didn't really like Haley as Vanitas, it'd be cooler if he DIDN'T talk, and when he did he sounded like a bully. If he should talk he should sound like Darth Maul, that low, british voice."

I'd have to disagree with you here. Haley's deeper 'bully' voice for Vanitas worked because Vanitas IS a bully. He's an empty creature of darkness, who only knows malice, cruelty, callousness, hatred and cunning and knows nothing of love or friendship. While the other antagonists of the series have motives of lust for power or revenge, Vanitas has no real motive. He's evil for evil's sake that craves one thing and one thing only: wanton destruction, like the devil spawn that he is, very much like child bullies are. So, therefore a bully-like portrayal is apropos. Furthermore, methinks that a brit voice would only work if Vanitas's progenitor had the same accent.

At the Vanitas comment:

I don't know, if that's what you like, fine, I'll respect that, I don't wanna bash it. I just didn't really care for Haley as Vanitas. Don't get me wrong, I was actually curious about how Haley would be as a villian, and he just didnt' deliver.
For another example, are you aware of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars tv show? The recent episode that came on shows Anikin, his apprentice Asohka (even though he's not a master at this point), and Obi-Wan have found this metal daimond shaped planet (where inside looks like Pandora from Avatar), and they found these three beings who are like the first force-wielders. There's the father, the daughter and the son (which is also their names). The Father is neutral, the daughter is naturally good, and the son is naturally evil (the son is played by Sam Witwer, who also played Anikin/Darth Vader's other apprentice Starkiller in the force unleashed games).
My point is, the way they portrayed the son was...........closer to what I had in mind for Vanitas.
ANYWAY, if that sounds long and compex, it's really not, the "previously on" gives you a brief run-down about what you need to know. Find the episode online somewhere and watch it, it's the most recent episode of season 3.

I'll admit, at first I expected just a simple Darth Maul type character from Vanitas, but as we learned more about him I expected something close to The Son from this Clone Wars arc that recently started (I know the idea of The Son came after Vanitas but still).

Time spent dreaming is time wasted.
