Largest single story in video game history?

Ok, the entire series of kingdom Hearts is all one large story spread out over so far six games. You really do have to play ALL of the games to get the whole story since none of the games in the series are standalone titles. I honestly can't think of another video game series with this one large story that is spread out over so many games. It really is one of the most large scale and epic stories in a video game series. yes I am aware that each game has its own story but there is a large single overarching story that connects all of the games.

Well there's Resident Evil, whose main story consist of Resident Evil 0, 1, 2, 3, Code Veronica, Darkside Chronicles, Umbrella Chronicles (Though both chronicles game are mostly retellings of RE 0,1,2,3 and Code Veronica, both include a new chapter to the story), 4, Revelations, 5 and the upcoming 6 so it will be 11 that make the main story. And if you would consider fighting games like Soul Calibur & Mortal Kombat, SC having 6 games that make the main story and MK 8 games that make the main story, Assassins Creed have 4 games so far with upcoming AC3 that would make 5, not as much as KH but still.
