First half Great, second half is a real bore.

First half about a first mate and it's captain going on an adventure to the heart of the sea. with whales and such that was awesome. And the first half of the film was the most entertaining in my opinion.

The second half is the cliche lonely-in-sea no food stuff. The second half was a real bore, with suffering of the characters and the whale making no sense attacking the crew.
The second half also was kinda cliche.

The ending however I did like. they managed to live again most of the crew that is. And it had a good feeling towards it. I hate ending that end either depressing or are just plain bad.

What were you expecting to happen. That a crack team of Mercenary Whales For Hire. Would have a massive shoot out with the men on the boats. Who got a fresh supply of weapon from there allies, the Dolphins. I mean come on.

Interesting stuff, like in that movie about the bounty.

They were showing what happened. Maybe you should stick with movies like the Expendables.

Most of the crew did not survive, just 8 men... 5 total on the two whaling boats and 3 survived on the island. Don't know what the original crew size was, but I'd guess the majority died.

(Spoilers ahead!!!!) I didn't think the second half was boring at all? You have no imagination if you think that. I thinks it's incredible what happened to them. It makes me question a lot of things. Like, do I really forgive them for eating their dead crew members or killing themselves to feed each other? Then again, if I was really that hungry would I eat my dead friends to survive? I want to say no, but then again, I've never had to endure such circumstances. You never truly know what you're capable of. The second half of the movie, to me, was incredible sad.

I somewhat agree, but since the film doesn't ever go into these gritty details it's hard for me to truly imagine it.

I largely agree. The first half was great and even exhilarating in parts, but the second half involving the survival fell really flat as it dragged on.
