Did AMC blow it with the 'sneak' premier trick?

It was over a year ago now, but I remember getting the feeling back then, after the season 3 finale of Breaking Bad, that a lot of people were really pissed off about that stunt AMC pulled where they listed BB's running time at like 2 hours, tricking people (and their DVRs) into thinking that the BB finale was 2 hours long, only to have the pilot of Rubicon show up in the second hour. I remember seeing people saying things like "boycott Rubicon" and such. I usually don't get worked up over stupid things like that but even I was pissed because I was kind of expecting a second hour to BB. And it wasn't just the fact that it didn't happen, but almost the way it happened - if you remember the BB finale, it builds up to a super tense moment, which finally comes, and then before you know it, you were expecting to see the outcome, but suddenly you're watching Rubicon and BB is over. It was an unwelcome shock for any BB fan. But I forced myself to watch Rubicon and actually liked it. It seems like AMC really got things off to the worst possible start, which may have contributed to people not watching because of the bad taste it left from the sneak premier.

That definitely hurt

They also should have reshot the 1st 4 episodes when they switched showrunners.

Those first four eps are not that good and people didn't hang for when the show got really good.

This is the first I've ever heard of that, so no.
