Similar shows?

I was looking for show similar to this. New or ongoing. Or even cancelled/concluded. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

If you're looking for something set in the intelligence community, Homeland's your best bet. CIA intrigue grounded in microscopic character studies.

wow, as it happens I am in the middle of downloading the pilot. cheers for the suggestion.

There is very little like this on TV these days, and that's one reason why (a) it is so uniquely held onto by its fans, and (b) probably why nobody watched it, and it was cancelled. I would say Homeland is the closest thing currently airing on US TV that comes to mind in terms of subject matter, but if its the tone of the show you're looking to replicate, then it's really not close either. It's closer in tone to British TV. That'd be the place to look for things in the same vein. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy would be one to check out.

Homeland, not as good but pretty similar.
Spooks also known as MI:5 TV series.

I also recommend Spy Game the movie from 2001 with Brad Pitt.

Tinker Tailor was really really dry and dull and boring imo. I figured I would love it. But couldn't get into it.

Three Days of the Condor had a big influence on Rubicon.

Yes, like the ending when they pretty much recreated the scene between Higgins and Joe Turner when Spangler tells Will the same hard truths.

I loved the show "Nowhere Man" - just watched it for the first time a few months ago. It's pretty 90's and falls off a little towards the end, but it's fun and it's a mystery. Deals with the "shadowy people in high places" a little like Rubicon and also cancelled after the first season.

HUNTED is a nice new show made by the BBC. It features Melissa George as a betrayed spy, working to uncover who betrayed her and why. It's slow in revealing its secrets, but at the same time it is a bit more direct/action oriented than RUBICON.

Nowhere man is pretty great, Some episodes show their age but overall it is a pretty awesome series. I only remembered bits and pieces when it originally aired and somehow was able to google around vague words and found out the show was called nowhere man. Great dvd purchase .

The Americans seems ok, I just started watching it, hoping for more Rubicon type show from it.

Being on FX channel gives them more freedom to include more mature themes which help in making the show more believable.

Ive watched some The Americans, and I kinda dislike how it focuses on the "domestic couple" aspects of the two main characters. That to me trivializes the atmosphere of the show and also detracts from the more interesting dramatic aspects. I dont know, in The Americans its just like "oh hey look at this these two spies are pretending to be regular upper-middle-class white people" and it seems like that becomes more of the focus instead of their spying actions. I'm probably overstating it but meh.

The 1990's TV version of La Femme Nikita. In terms of film though The Good Shepherd is similar.
