The ending killed it: attorney turned felon (spoilers)

Saw this with my boyfriend last night. I rather enjoyed it until the ending.

Regardless of how psycho she was, an the fact that she committed homicide, assault and trespassing - the baby was legally Anna's. So when John and Laura went to get the kid - that would be felony kidnapping.

So Anne's dead. Momma and daddy both ends up in jail. And the baby gets raised by a foster family.

I would think that John being an attorney would have come up with a better plan. Insist his wife stay behind and establish an alibi. So after John went to jail for kidnapping and Anna for homicide and assault - the baby would go to his closet living relative by DNA...

The ending ruined it for me.

The ending had me a little confused as well. But if we really wanna get technical about it they were stupid for choosing her as a surrogate to begin with, especially after meeting that creepy ass boyfriend.

They have money so they could disappear easily. How long until they're caught? We'll never know.
