Do You Want To Know Why I Like This Movie?

Good, because I'm going to tell you. It's because this movie is about following your dreams in spite of what the critics say. No offense, critics. If nobody ever did crazy stuff that everyone else told them was a bad idea because of money or security or potentially bad outcomes, this world would be a horrible place. Granted, the world can be harsh and unkind sometimes, especially to those who are trying to change it for the better, but that's all the more reason to try to change it for the better. Most ways to do this involve taking crazy risks with time or money or personal security. There's a fine line between recklessness and righteousness. Sometimes, we're called to step out of the boat and walk it.

This film warmed my heart and inspired me. I came away determined to live my life more fully. It reminded me of some lyrics from a song I like by Spearhead:

And don't let mistakes be so monumental,
And don't let your love be so confidential,
And don't let your mind be so darn judgmental,
And please let your heart be more influential.

So, in conclusion, the next time you feel the urge to do something others might call crazy or foolish or pointless, ask yourself these simple questions: Is it good? Is it lovely? Could it be of value to other people? Does it involve getting dangerously close to 500 lb. predatory cats? If the answers to these questions are yes, yes, yes, and yes, then you've probably got a winner. Thank you very much for your time. My name is Robert, and I approved this message.

Very well put!! I couldn't agree more. I love the lines about "20 seconds of courage." Who knows how much we can change our life, our job, our dreams, just by taking a leap of faith?? A smile for a stranger, some kind words to the lady behind you in the grocery line, all have ripple effects that can bring about wonderful change to the world around us.
I love the way this movie makes me feel like even when something horrible happens in your life, you can still find a new dream, and start over.
This is definitely a feel-good movie, despite the sad parts.

In other words, 'Why not?'

No.

Clicking the thread sort of implies you did, like OP said. If you didn't just click it to be a smart-ass, in which case you lose.

What if this is as good as it gets?

Yes, follow your dreams. They may leave your family homeless, your life in ruins, your family torn apart, but yes follow your dreams. What's the alternative? Only a safe albeit sedate life with four walls to call your home and a family that can depend on you. What do the critics know eh?
