Little girl was annoying!

They could not have made the daughter, Rosie, any more annoying. It's as if they said, "act and say the cutest things you can think of" before starting every scene. I much prefer when kids act like actual children behave, which isn't constantly as if they are the cutest thing on God's green earth.

reply

no she was not i liked her.

reply

I have a low tolerance for annoying kids in movies, but I actually didn't find her annoying.

reply

But so were most of the other characters.

reply

I know not everybody likes kids, but people who get so annoyed by children are whacked imo. Get some perspective. They're kids for God's sake.

Not to mention, I couldn't disagree more. I loved thst kid. She ilwas super cute.

THANK YOU! Kids are supposed to be kids. Go figure, right? I think some of the people who watched this are mad that a movie that was marketed as being lighthearted and cute actually WAS lighthearted and cute.

reply

I find annoying adults more annoying than annoying kids. Kids have an excuse, what's an annoying adult's excuse?

Besides, I thought Rosie was adorable and not even a little annoying.

What's their excuse?

reply

I prefer her real awkward kid acting to "mechanical" performances such as Culkin, Mara Wilson, etc.

Who busts the Crimebusters?

reply

She was ok. Much better than the kid in Real Steel. Now that was a real annoying kid.

reply

ugh you had to remind me of him.

reply

I believe what the OP is saying, is that he is annoyed by Rosie because she is not annoying. Kids are generally annoying, whiny, loud, in the way, etc.., and Rosie was not. The OP is annoyed that the girl doesn't act realistically.

reply

But it felt realistic. She had personality and was a well behaved child. I was the same way. Actually I was more shy.
I feel people are too use to the whole "cliche annoying kids" tropes.

reply

This kid did not act like a kid. She said things and used tones that only adults would say. She was obviously a victim of bad scriptwriting.

reply

I agree with you and the OP. Everytime the kid opened her mouth I was like, whaaat? She talked and acted like she was 50 and it distracted me throughout the movie.

I disagree. She matured at a faster rate due to losing her mother. That happens when children lose their parents.

Yes, she was very mature for her age, but she was a very precocious child. I know kids like that.

She was so cute! With those big eyes and that cute little laughter!

reply

She was ok compared to Dakota in "War of the Worlds"....whoo...that was annoying.....

reply

come on man she was adorable.

Your poetry will now be written with blood

reply

I totally disagree with the OP. She was so adorable, especially when her dad asks her why she doesn't do her play dates anymore and she responds by saying somehing like "noting, lots to do here". It just shows that girls turn mature faster than boys..

reply

I thought Maggie Elizabeth Jones as Rosie was adorable! Quite possibly the best thing about the movie, in fact. Although John Michael Higgins was great in his small role.

reply

Anyone like Mckenna Grace? She's excellent as a child actress now..

When I saw Walking with Dinosaurs in '13, I was SUPER CONVINCED that the open with the boy and girl almost seemed slightly similiar since the kid was peeved about something..and it sort of rem inded me of We bought a zoo..that part only.:)
