Real Movie or Throw Awaw Cop Film?

is this script based on a book or anything? what i'm asking is this movie going to be good ahah. Like...were they trying here? Deep character studies, deep issues, good ending, good atmosphere...like, is this movie developed?

or is it something like Along Came a Spider, High Crimes..just forgettable bleh cop films.
