Great movie! Give it a shot

Believe me, I've followed Pacino's career from the beginning. He's made some so-so movies (and one or two duds) but this is a moving, funny and nuanced performance totally suited to the film. Walken and Arkin equal him and the whole movie is nicely and appropriately shot by Fisher Stevens. Definitely cheered me coming across this.

I watched this tonight and really enjoyed it.
I thought Pacino, Walken & Arkin were great... Sure it's not a 100 mile an hour action thriller, it's subtle and undestated and has a very indie vibe.

I agree, it was funny, moving and I liked it a lot.

I cannot believe this has such a low rating... Ridiculous.

I really liked this film as well. I just finished it and thought it was a lot of fun. The interaction between Pacino, Walken and Arkin was great. I especially enjoyed Arkin's character. People are too jaded on this board, and don't seem to know how to just sit back and enjoy a film anymore. I'm glad I ignored some of the other posts, and gave it a shot.

I guess it deserves praise for not being outright awful - and, of course, the fact remains it`s worth a look predominantly, if not only, because it has three great acting legends bounce this uninspired material off each other, and rendering it at least mildly amusing. There`re some witticisms that fare fairly well, and more interesting scenes, and dialogue is all in all passable, but ultimately it`s really nothing more than rehashing stuff from older films - the second half in particular threatens to turn into a lame cinematic quoting game and a flurry of bad jokes mixed in with a good dose of sentimentalism (although not as good as one might have feared). The three titular gangster old-timers with a heart of gold do save the day though - it`s real nice looking at them act, even in a largely unworthy number like this. 5,5-6/10.

I like the movie but I didn't like the ending since it felt abrupt.

Loved this movie. I was totally engaged watching Walken and Pacino work with each other. Had to watch it twice in one day because I couldn't get enough of watching their performance and chemistry.

Movie is complete garbage.

I enjoyed this movie... Loved Arkin's character. Walken and Pacino were awesome together. The LA setting was wrong but I enjoyed everything else. Had me laughing and smiling the whole way through

A lot better than the critics are saying.

I'll agree that it's too short and the ending could have been better, but still a very enjoyable movie.
