Hong Chau should have been nominated for an Academy Award

I understand that this movie has divided audiences and critics. It is not for everyone and even I, who admired its epic ambitions and scope, am not sure what my final judgement is on it.

But Hong Chau was really delightful in her role. Memorable and moving, she should have been nominated for an Oscar.

I'm less into the movie than you are I think, and even though she was fine, I think there are a lot of other, better actresses like Holly Hunter and Tiffany Haddish who should have gotten in over her.

I'm trying to go for an entertaining, informative youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see and if you have any thoughts or criticisms, i'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance. Review right here- https://youtu.be/tn12vJcJawY

She was getting some buzz prior to Downsizing’s release, and after the film came out her performance was still being singled out by many (deservingly so). But considering this was a strong year for best actress, I can see why she was left out, especially when you take into account the unenthusiastic reception to the film.

I’d say she gave a great star making performance. Hopefully she’ll get more worthy roles offered to her.
