Sydney Faking Her Death Makes No Sense

Why would Sydney fake her death? She finally found a man who really loved her and was experiencing the happiest day of her life - her wedding day - why would she fake her death when everything was going so great for her?

In the original, Sydney was killed when a car driven by Samantha and her convict father hit her. How could Sydney have faked that and set that up? She had no connections to Samantha's father and Samantha's father would have no reason to help out Sydney. He didn't even know her!

And how coincidental that Samantha and her father just happened to crash right at the site of Sydney's wedding ... but that's a different thread ....

Sydney didn't fake the accident, but she wrongly assumed it was someone else in the car - someone from her past who she believed wanted to kill her. So she used Michael to fake her death so she could disappear.

It was horrible retcon, though. It was never explained properly. We never found out who this "person from her past" was. It would have made sense for her real murder to be linked to that same person from her past, but it never was.

It was nice to see her again, but I'll agree her death made no sense and I liked Violet. I wonder why they took her off so quickly.
