Details about the ending, please--including spoiler!

I started writing a review of this film over a year ago and did not want to spoil it by including the ending. Now I am trying to complete the review, but I have forgotten the ending!

I do not remember that The Champ actually killed El Turco in the big fight, as stated in therealman's post. But, if that's the case, I am wondering how The Champ was able to do that, since we know of his weakened state due to alcoholism and mental illness?

Can anyone be a little more specific about how the fight actually transpired and how The Champ was able to kill El Turco? That means the spoiler!

What I DO remember is that, the next morning, the two protagonists--El Principe and The Champ--set off in their picaresque travels.

you can watch it on instant netflix. but the matador was saved by the doctor at the hospital. well, they said if he was gonna die he would have by now (after surgery). so it was close.
