Refreshingly honest attempt at kung fu versus western boxing

I found the Ip Man versus Mr. Miller/Twister fight a refreshing attempt to portray a more or less accurate match between different fighting styles.

I'm one of many people who've realized just how brutally effective western boxing can be and even more so in self-defense.
Western boxing specializes in fist-fighting and utilizes the human body's most natural movements in delivering fist blows from linear and angular directions.
Bruce Lee, ever the pragmatist, immediately recognized the utility in boxing and incorporated some of it in Jeet Kune Do.
Shockingly, even the People's Republic of China incorporated elements of western boxing in its soldier combative training. Notice the western boxing-like stance of its soldiers during hand-to-hand combat training. The first tenet of western boxing is plainly obvious, protect your face and head first and foremost.

There was always controversy about which made more sense. Without the head the body cannot survive, or, without the body the head cannot survive. Since the head controls the body, knock out the head and the body follows.

Ip Man was essentially fighting a western gladiator. This boxer, Twister, obviously has the 'eye of the tiger'. Ip Man had conviction but it wasn't enough. At the end, even Ip Man had to reach down deep inside to pull out his own, 'eye of the tiger' to win.

The fight scene showed just how effective western boxing can be.
