A Nice Surprise

Considering I saw this movie squashed in the syfy line up along with syfy's substantial collection of "original" zombie movies, I expected this to be something along the lines of Zombie Apocalypse or Rise of the Zombies. Thankfully, it was not.

Is it my favorite zombie movie...no. Is it the most original movie...no. But it is entertaining and for the most part believable, which is about the most you can ask for from a zombie movie. It gives me hope in a genre so overly saturated with pure, concentrated garbage.

It reminds me that when *beep* like that god-awful abomination "warm bodies" comes out and turns zombies into emo, bastardized versions of what they're supposed to be, that somewhere out there are people making movies who still understand the purpose and appeal of a monster like a zombie.
