Zombies were VERY badly acted

They really were, so frustrating when Zombies in films are this slow, Walking Dead is how they should be.

So is your problem that the zombie actors did a poor job portraying the zombies as directed ('badly acted'), or is it that the directors of the film chose to portray zombies in a manner that is different from your favorite? Because those are two very different complaints.

I like both styles of Zombies (fast and slow) but I just didn't feel like the actual actors came across as 'real', perhaps it was because of the low budget but a lot of the zombies were pretty lame.

they where more in a trance type deal rather than dead things moving to me they did ok imo but that part at the end when he started chopping them up and they didn't even seam to come close to him made me wonder how these things where taking over i know thay are slow in night of the living dead and stuff like that but these where slower and more dorsal then even them

It's unfortunate when today's audiences have too short an attention span to enjoy a slow-paced, suspenseful film like this one.

i can handle a slow pace but when there is no real subtext within the slow parts it becomes pretentious

i didn't hate the movie i just thought it was ok by the end i didn't really feel much for the characters in the film i did enjoy the setting and the way it was shot and the zombies looked very haunting but not very threatening for the most part apart from the ones on the beach at the start they were pretty creepy but other than that i didn't really feel a a sens of impending doom as the film went on , the acting was sub par from the main army guy

Are you sure you know what 'pretentious' means?

Overall, I think the movie asks for more engagement from the viewer than most people are willing to give. I got a really good ride out of it.

OK zach, you found the comma key, now look to the right of the comma key. There you go, it is called a "full stop". Learn to use it.

I liked these zombies - they were played without aggression, and to that end I thought they were all played consistently well. They were like automatons, motivated to eat but not motivated by rage. I think that takes a lot of restraint on the part of the actors!

I agree with this guys comment ^

George Romero could be called the "inventor" of zombies, and he made them slow. He said he will never make them fast, because as you know, they are dead people. You think a corpse with broken bones and rigamortis is going to move quickly? The makers of Walking Dead say the same. These are just "walking dead" people. They don't have any super powers or anything. And Walking Dead zombies are slow, too. (GREAT show by the way).

Also, side note, the people playing the zombies were actual natives of the area they filmed in Africa. They are not actors. I read an interview and they said the villages, the people, the families, were all real people in their real homes (without electricity) even wearing their own clothes. I doubt they have ever seen a zombie movie. I found their portrayal of zombies even better. It made it more scary because it was a new take on how zombies behave, by people who have probably never seen them.

Slow or fast, they can still eat your brains. :-)

You think a corpse is going to move?

Fixed.

I liked them. They reminded me more of Fulci zombies, trance like and almost supernatural. But yes I do prefer plaque zombies to supernatural zombies. By the way please don't anyone on this thread say anything stupid like "what's a Fulci zombie?"
