I like both original and remake

I also really like both. I still don't think the reasons the fans of the original hate the 2012 one are not valid.
The film looks good. Does nods to blade runner urban design. Has some new ideas. Really I see no problem with it. I like the idea of subterranean elevator.

I like this remake. I think Colin did a great job and the action was terrific.

The newer Wiseman/Farrell version is superior in plotting, plausible characterization, acting, production-design, visual cg fx, cinematography, action and stunts. Really well crafted world-building and very good set-pieces -- an underrated gem. (*Especially the Director's Cut)

The older Verhoeven/Schwarzenegger version is superior in an indelible Jerry Goldsmith music score, undeniable Rob Botitn special make-up fx, and unapologetic cheesy humor and attitude that serves repeat enjoyment. It was groundbreaking upon release, and still holds up as a pulp classic.



Mind only what is merited.
