Who else turns this off after Sam/Dwayne jump?

Nothing really worth seeing for the rest of this movie after its two funniest, most interesting characters are killed off.

Kind of wonder what the writers were even thinking honestly, dedicating 90% of the movie to weaker characters and humor when this is supposed to be a comedy movie.

2 hours of Sam/Dwaynes antics would have been true gold.

Seems like you were the only one. The movie starts when these two are gone. It was necessary to kill them in many ways. They are funny precisely of this one joke. If they sticked up to the end of the movie, they wouldn't be over the top anymore, they would be like regular cop buddies in regular action movies. The entire movie hinges on the contrast between those cartoonish cops (Rock an Jackson) and the more realistic doofuses (Ferrel and Wahlberg). If they survived that jump, it would beat the entire purpose of having those two characters in the first place.

Also, if these two actors had more screentime, then they had asked for an even bigger salary. The movie was already expensive enough as it was, so there's that.

The movie really turned unfunny after they jumped, I agree.

It actually adds to the comedy that people like you react this way.
You're like another comical character from the movie, just acting irrationally. :D

I really can't wrap my head around how the movie budget was $100 million for this crap script and how it even made $170 million at the box office. pfff

No. the idea of the movie is the other guys. Namely the unknowns like Ferrell and wahlberg characters. So the macho stereotype cops had to die. Shows how dumb they are jumping off a building vis a vis typical movies where the hero cops overcome ridiculous odds.

Ah yes, douchy troll posts from imdb days.
