I was looking forward to this a lot, but i think it was just too long to deal with ferrell's bush impression. With all the SNL skits and other appearances ferrell did as bush they were probly never more than 10 minutes. i think dealing with the bush impression for 90 minutes just kinda dilluted ferrell's bush impression and made it less funny

Interesting, I think it said 75 minutes on the playbill when I attended the event, I'll have to check that out.

The problem is this:
90 minutes is very long for a stand-up special -- the best comedians, from Pryor to Carlin to Hicks, usually kept their specials to an hour tops. It's not because of short attention spans, it's because the medium doesn't work as well the longer you stretch it...that's just my opinion, but I think it's reinforced by this mediocre special.
Ferrell's Bush impression got lazier as the show went on - to the point where, by the end, he really didn't even sound like him anymore. I like Ferrell, but I just feel like the concept for this was better than the execution - a lot of the jokes were just really...not that funny! And a lot of the material has been done better by himself and other comedians over the past eight years.

It's both. The show's official write-ups listed it as a stand-up Broadway show.
Regardless, I just didn't find it very funny...and I don't think it worked particularly well as a "one-man show" if you want to restrict it to just that label.

Well who said you were entitled to your own opinion. Obviously we combined Will Ferrell and Bush bashing so you have to like it or you a communist. The absolute nerve of some people. I mean he put his heart and soul into that 90 minutes. I mean I got bored and changed the channel after like 10 minutes, but I have taste and standards. It is sad to say that the commercial for this was funnier then the show, BUT that's my opinion.
