When Fangoria asked about the inspiration....

Within the first few lines of the Godkiller wiki

When Fangoria asked about the inspiration behind Godkiller, Pizzolo stated:

"I thought it would be fun to design a new mythology for *beep*-ups and misfits."

wow, NOT what I wanted to read after watching this totally epic piece of art.

But then, who cares right? This movie totally blew me away. All the tinfoil hat wearing folks will love this (myself included).

I noticed that Fangoria link is dead. The writer of the article posted it on his own website:

It's a very thorough piece, he interviews Danielle Harris, Nicki Clyne, Tiffany Shepis, and Matt Pizzolo.

That quote is slightly out of context:

"Matt Pizzolo: I first started tooling around with the world of Godkiller when I was on tour in Europe for my first film Threat. While visiting churches and museums, I was really struck by the juxtaposition of pagan art and Christian art. Especially in Italy and France, there's this enduring legacy of holy war in the art itself... I was fascinated by how religions and mythologies and cultures compete for disciples through art. And I was also struck by the similarities between Vatican City and Disneyland.

So I thought it would be fun to design a new mythology for *beep* and misfits. I called it Godkiller, because it seemed like each new mythology was trying to kill off the gods of previous mythologies... and so my story would begin with a character who was literally killing off the gods of previous mythologies.
...
My goal with it is to present heroes that don't behave heroically because it's their job to maintain the status quo or because they're bored and want to rescue a princess, they act heroically because they're regular misfits who are trying to do the best they can for each other in an unjust, *beep* up world."

Ahhh. Indeed it was taken out of context, thank you for posting the whole article. It makes alot more sense now.

Why be offended? A myth for *beep*-ups sounds like fun and something the world may need. In fact, isn't all myth kinda/sorta for *beep*-ups? isn't it time for some new myth?
