I also made this point on the board for the new live action version, but this is really not for kids in my view. There was plenty of bad language in this film and while I enjoyed it, it ticks me off that my kids don't get to enjoy it because I thought it was excessive and totally unneeded.

These films aren't made for kids. They're targeted at an older audience. Teens at the least. But they're also made for fans.

It's PG-13, based on comics usually rated Teen because of the fights, and you're complaining about them saying "damn" and "crap"? What the hell? Animation doesn't mean it's for kids. Let's change South Park and edit it so it's child-appropriate because it vaguely looks like it should be child-appropriate, since it's a cartoon...

my 3 year old loved it. so they say 'ass' and 'damn' wow ..big whoop. it's a cold world you can't shelter your kids forever from the horrors of such PG-13 language
shareI don't think the violence would've been suited for anyone younger than a teen, like where the dead villain had a gaping gory hole in his abdomen and when the guy got absolutely minced through the vacuum hole in the space ship etc.
