Guest explanation problem...

If you guys watch the show a lot you might remember when the hosts explained that certain guests they couldn't invite because they aren't shown on the channel. Now I'm watching this episode with the Winery Dogs and I don't get it. Yes the members were in bands probably featured on Metal Mania but come on this is bull. So I have to see a band I could care less about but they won't invite Municipal Waste, or Mastodon, or Kylesa. And don't give me the success thing because I don't believe the Winery Dogs are really going to become that successful. I know Municipal Waste is a bad explanation, but they had Lamb of God, so why not Mastodon? Is it because they don't slurp eddie's ass, or he doesn't get to take credit for every ounce that happens on the show? I still like the show but that is just ridiculous. I'm getting tired of seeing groups that never made a dent like Kix just because they're friends. They are irrelevant. I guess they really stand by metal and make sure it isn't too extreme.

Just found out today that Artie Lang and Jim Breuer will be guests on good weekends episode. So no bands beside Joe Satriani unless he's playing Yngwie Malmsteen. So why does this show exist? If it's just then hanging with their New York buddies then do it on Eddie's show. He plugs it enough. I just can't get why they're not inviting someone from a band, but they'll have a loser heroin addict. It's annoying.

What the hell are you talking about? Bands or certain people won't be on the show because THEY don't want to be on the show. Invites are out there for everybody.

It has been mentioned that Ozzy, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons will not appear on the show because they have an issue with some criticism Eddie Trunk made about them at some point. Supposedly, Hetfield won't do the show because he's not comfortable sitting in front of a studio audience for an hour.

reply

Where did you read that about Hetfield?

reply

James Hetfield is an emotional cripple. Have you seen the movie "Some Kind Of Monster"?

reply

Paul Stanley won't do it because he thinks the show is a joke.

Eddie Trunks response to that was hilarious:

Kind of ironic because Kiss is pretty much a joke. Forty years, but have you listened to "Kiss 40"? At least half of it is awful.

He didn't read it. The guys on TMS mentioned it in a Top 5 wish list guests. He was quoted by them as saying That's a Lars thing. You'd have to check the episode because I can't remember which one.

From a recent interview with Eddie on Classic Rock Revisited:

"There is a huge misconception that the only bands that get on my show are bands that I like and that couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve had tons of bands on "That Metal Show" that I don’t personally love or listen to. I have tons of bands that I love that have never been on that show. That is not the criteria. I just like getting the story out. I like engaging with these people. I don’t play an instrument, so this is my contribution to helping these bands and growing these bands. From day one until now, I have liked the same music. I like the same genre of Hard Rock and Metal that I like now. There is a wide net of it and I don’t make any apologies about not liking Death Metal."

On one show this year he also talked about the fact that they are limited by a very modest budget and limited shooting period, so scheduling certain guests can be a challenge.

Even if you're right on the invitations, and I don't think you are, I happen to love the Winery Dogs and have no use for Municipal Waste, Mastodon, or Kylesa. Relevance is in the eye of the beholder.

I do have to agree with you on Kix, though.
