Nope! But those who know how to use a search engine can find DVD importers.

or you could actually import and pay for something you want to see. The sooner thieving little sh.ts like you are stopped the better. Wanting something doesnt give you the right to take it.

Try and defend downloading movies as much as you like. Its theft no matter how you try and colour it. Its no different than photocopying an entire book. ( except d/ling is much easier). Show some respect for the film makers.

Latest film seen: Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (1965) 8/10

Yeah, but there's no English subtitles, so why would someone spend like $50-60 on an import dvd *beep* way more expensive over there), and have to buy an all region player, just to play a movie with no subs anyway? Seems kinda silly, doesn't it?

The UK release HAS subtitles, also it costs $15.50 US Dollars (including postage) from Amazon.co.uk

So no it doesn't. There is no excuse for theft. Defend away though.
Get a clue.

Okay, how much is a region free player? What if someone doesn't usually get import movies, so they don't really have a need to buy a $100 or more region free player? And maybe a new TV (you know the whole PAL thing, right? Of course you do -- you're clearly an expert!)?

...Even people who download it -- a lot will buy it if it ever comes out here for real. I know I WOULD -- but I doubt it will, which has nothing to do with torrents. It has to do with companies not taking a chance on releasing things because they only want to release things that are guranteed to sell. There was a huge DVD scene for Asian movies back in the day -- not so much now (people are too busy buying Twilight related *beep* And, see, I bought just about everything that came out from Tartan and so on -- I mean, I do own literally 3000 ACTUAL dvd's -- there's just no market for it now. It's going to get to the point where the only way to see these films at all IS downloading. Though I guess my eyes should not be witness to a film I would've bought if the movie had come out here, which it probably won't? Okay, thanks for that!

Either way, the version I have is unsubbed. If it comes out here, I'm picking it up. You know why I'm picking it up? I watched the unsubbed version and loved it, and want to buy the unsubbed one! Wow -- how weird is that, a download is actually going to create a sale, in the situation that the movie actually comes out here!

...You're the one who needs to get a clue. People into these types of movies are usually the biggest fans of this type of stuff, the ones who do actually spend money. I can almost gurantee I've spent more money on Asian DVD's than you, or anyone you know. But even if I had spent $10,000 on something someone else got for free -- I wouldn't be mad at them for getting it for free, I'd just be happy there is someone else out there into cool films. Lighten up.

Pull your head out of your ass. If people are in to "cool films" then they should support them, not steal them.

For a start I own over 4500 DVD/Blu-Rays an about 1200 VHS tapes ALL of them legally purchased. I have been collecting films for almost 20 years and I never steal them.

I actually bought a region free player and a NTSC/PAL TV so I could watch any film I wanted to. I dont go on with this whole I want it so I deserve it mentality you seem to think is accepatble. If you really want this film then buy what is required to watch it.

On a side note region free players are cheap, and most region locked player can be unlocked easily. LCD/LED/Plamsa TVs are pretty much universally NTSC and PAL compatable. So I dont accept the cost arguement either. Even if you cant afford it that doesnt give you th right to steal it. e.g. "Oh I want a new BMW. I cant afford a new BMW, but I really want it because I LOVE BMWs!!!! Oh I might just steal one then I can have and other people can go "look there goes a guy who loves cool cars!""

Dont throw "I've spent money so I am allowed to steal occasionally" argument at me it doesnt wash. If you have spent as much as claim you have on Asian films then why wouldnt you buy a region free player and a PAL compatible TV? Or are you just spouting crap.

Dont try and defend theft just becuase you actually buy the occasional film you've torrented. The vast majority dont.

"I have been collecting films for almost 20 years"

There we are, a collector, and you want everyone else to be a collector too.

reply

No, I just want people to stop stealing. Wanting something doesnt give someone the right to take it. Is it that hard to understand? how bout I come by your place and steal what ever takes my fancy, as you seem to be ok with the idea of people taking what ever they want.

deleted as this is not the place for such discussions

reply

OMG cryocore!! Yes, you coming to my place and taking what you want is EXACTLY like someone downloading a copy of a film.

I can picture you with a large sign over your shoulders, walking the streets and preaching the commandments...

In case you feel sarcasm is 'tone theft', taking a physical thing is not the same as taking a copy of something. And quit it with your 'defend all you want' and 'doesn't give you the right'. We're all aware, thanks.

Including postage you say? Mmmhmm, scares me that you know where I live...

I'll have to disagree. Yes, taking something you have not paid for is stealing, but what if the film is utter crap? Same goes for tunes... I'll download whatever the hell I want to. If I see/hear it and like it, I'll PURCHASE a copy of my own.

And especially in the music industry, no 'artist' should depend on talent alone in order to eat and pay bills.
