medical innacuracy?

Am i the only one who clocked the massive innaccuracy at the start of this film?! The female says something along the lines of take my blood, as much as you want, im O positive. O POSITIVE?! Did the film makers not do their research or was the doctor just too scared to correct her? Maybe there was an extra bit to that scene later in the film where the doc explains that O positive is the universal recipient and not the universal donor before they shoot him in the face. I don't know because following that i decided it was not worth my watching.

I am almost considering going back and re-watching the scene to be sure i didn't mishear what she said but i can't bear it. Sorry for the rant but the film didn't exist on nitpickers and i didn't want to start a flame war via facebook. :)

AB is the universal recipient. Also O pos is almost as good as O neg. There are some extra steps needed to make it work, but it can be used on everyone after those are taken.

O negative is the unversal donor. AB positive is the universal recipient.

I wondered about this when I saw it too - also didn't see much in the way of wires connecting Jack's body to the heart monitor either...
