Robert Redford as popular punching bag

Robert Redford was in college in the mid-1950s. It was a time during which the only thing to protest was having to drive out to a truck stop men's room in order to find condoms.

By the beginning of the Vietnam War, Redford was 26 years old, married, with 3 children (1 deceased).

By the time of the Vietnam War protests during the so-called Summer of Love, Redford was 32 years old, and was already an established Hollywood star, most notably for Inside Daisy Clover & This Property Is Condemned & The Chase.

During the time of the Weather Underground, he made Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid & Jeremiah Johnson & The Sting & All the President's Men.

It's simply ridiculous to say that Robert Redford should have done thus-&-such regarding the anti-war movement of the late 1960s, or that Robert Redford has thus-&-such motives. It's like saying Gen-X'ers are responsible for college tuition protests.
