Is this worth watching and does it end?

Hello

I have all 8 episodes and was wondering if this is worth watching and does it end or leave you hanging? I really enjoyed last years Harper Island so I was wondering if this was like it.

Thanks for the info in advance!

I really enjoyed it very much, the ending is not as tidy as most people would like, but it was sufficient for me to still give it a positive review.

CBS gave HARPER'S ISLAND a chance and actually aired all the episodes that were filmed. The show as able to leave the airwaves with all the loose ends nicely tidied up.

ABC, on the other hand, did not give HAPPY TOWN a fair shot at finding an audience and cancelled it 8 episodes into it's 13 episode order.

I found the ending to be a HUGE disappointment, seeing as how they revealed the killer as being someone who up until the last 20 seconds of the episode, had not even been part of the show's canvas.

I felt this could have been as good (almost) as Twin Peaks given the chance. If 13 episodes were filmed I hope someone decides to air them. Cult status is a rare thing and this could have had it.

Completely agree with you. This is the closest a tv-show has come to that strange and compelling vibe that Twin Peaks had. It draws you in. The way it ended, the abruptness, and the lose ends, was absolutely horrible. The producers could have achieved greatness, but left it in limbo instead.

Don't think I'll bother watching this now.

A thread that with a question that get all the people in that aren't sure if they will have/want to see this and you give out such a big spoiler that it pretty much ruins the show. Thanks!

I'm honestly going to tell you: Don't waste your time. Harper's Island was way better with a much cleaner ending. The only good thing about Happy Town was Sam Neill.

This was a terrific show that wasn't given a chance. Scott Rosenberg should grow a pair and try to get it on cable. F..K ABC!

I thought Harper's Island was predictable and boring. In contrast, Happy Town was more suspenseful, had a more interesting setting, had better writing, and had better actors. My opinion, and I don't challenge anyone to change his mind, but it's worth noting that people have different views about the shows. I watched all of both shows.

Just started watching this on a whim...been wanting to check it out ever since ABC announced it but the reviews were poor and then episodes were left unaired and I wasn't sure if it was worth it. But damn I love this show. It's delightfully strange and thoroughly entertaining, I hope there's some kind of answers given before the end but honestly I'm just enjoying it.
