This show was dead on arrival....

After weeks of trying to watch this show with my wife, I gave up. There's a reason that no one is watching. The show suffers from many problems too many for FX to want to save it.

-Slow Pacing
-Bad Writing
-Cliche Plots
-Unlikeable Characters/Actors
-Subject Matter
-Most of all you'd need a microscope to see their ratings

And most of all I can't see why there would be a need to make another season of this show. Its a build up to the Reynolds fight and even at this time I couldn't care less about it, the plot has been drawn out and watered down so much it completely lost all momentum.

To each his own I guess. But as the weeks have gone I've found myself looking forward to it more and more every week and finding that the hour its on goes by so fast and I'm like NOOO it's over!

I agree with squirtsquirt7. You must really dislike this show though, as your comment history is all comments on Lights Out. I disagree with all of your bullet points listed, except "Most of all you'd need a microscope to see their ratings", because that's unfortunately true.

I don't find the pacing slow, I view it more as exposition for the characters. I think the writing is superb. Of course there are moments when I don't agree with everything the show does, but when I view the overall arc of the season, I'm pleased. Maybe it's because I expected to dislike the show when I watched the first episode, and my low expectations allowed me to see the positives the show had to offer. I know the show won't be renewed, and I'm ok with that now, because you're right, the season is a build up to the Reynolds fight, and win, lose, or draw, it should be the final fight for both Reynolds & Lights. Not every show needs to have multiple seasons, as seen by the BBC's programming. I'm enjoying the ride of the show, and will buy the DVD when it comes out. I know it won't matter, but I have to support the shows I enjoy.

My only fear is that since both Terriers & Lights Out didn't receive the ratings FX expected, then FX will change the type of shows they produce.

The show was DOA and you don't like it b/c of its ratings? Nice argument--you're a regular Alfred Einstein.
