What a haunting ending

I agree.

That ending was worth the ride.

So I just got around to watching the finale yesterday. (I've had the last four episodes on backlog for a while.) I came on here to see what other people had to say, to see if they were as struck by the ending as I was, and of course, all that happens is I'm inundated by annoying haters. I saw your thread though, and I just have to say that I agree completely. I watched the episode yesterday evening, and I've still been thinking about that ending throughout the day today. Heartbreaking, but brilliantly done.
