No need for season 2

There was really no point in extending the show. The season finale is a good series finale. The show didn't need to go on, that's most likely why it didn't.

I'd watch Lights and his dad eat hotdogs on the boardwalk. If this is going to get picked up, let it happen soon before the cast scatters.

The show would have had another great season and there were plenty of storylines they could introduce in the second season. It didnt get a second season because of ratings and thats the only reason and other networks are looking at lights out to pick it up.

Did you see this somewhere? If so, can you post a link? Not trying to call you out or anything, I just hope to god its true.

I agree with the OP. Rocky never had to go on past Rocky II, pretty much the same deal here.

Since you obviously have inside information, tell us which specific project each actor has committed to.

Word is producers of the show are trying to sell it to other networks...fingers crossed (source : http://thevoiceoftv.com/blog/will-lights-out-be-saved-producers-are-shopping-the-show-around/33926 )

I read an interview with Warren Leight and he talked about the second season focusing on Johnny. Johnny stepping out of his brothers shadow. Along with some more talk of MMA (not sure if that was referring to johnny or the champ) but either way they had some really good plans for season 2.

I don't disagree with the OP because this is a really good place to finish on. However, it would also be great to see where they would go from here. I would like to see Johnny stepping up 'cos there was loads of talk about him being technically AMAZING.

Seriously? You're asking someone to research what the other actors are doing while posting on an IMDb forum?

I thought I was lazy.

yeah this is definitely a mini-series. i mean how to make a comeback story into a series? whats season 2 and 3 gonna be like? hes already passed his prime and made the miracle comeback fight, how many of those can he make? if they were gonna make a boxing series that went multiple seasons it would have to be about a young boxer who starts out at the bottom and makes his way to the top slowly. the first time i saw a promo for this show i was like how the hell is that gonna be on the air long? lol

I imagine a lot of the focus in the future would have been on pugilistic dementia and Light's family life.

The problem with this show is that it started off so weak. I'm glad I stuck with it, because it turned out really well, but the first 4 episodes or so were really weak (other than the action in the pilot).

If it ever does come back, they need some more Ed Romeo. Kareem Said for the win.

I agree. I was cringing through a lot of it and many episodes just sat on my DVR for weeks. I finally got back into it and started loving it. It's one of those shows that I "hate to watch" because they made me care about the characters, and I didn't want to see Lights get hurt.

I do agree that IF it ends, it had a great ending... Really, really fantastic. But I would watch it on Showtime, too!
